There were no garish badges or novelty T-shirts on show as Kate Beckinsale celebrated her 36th birthday in LA last night.

Instead it was an altogether more glamorous affair, as the Underworld actress partied with her BFFs Eva Longoria Parker and Victoria Beckham at upmarket restaurant XIV.

Looking years younger than her mid-30s, Kate sported a simple black sheath, neutral make-up, and sky-high Christian Louboutin gladiator-style stilettos.
